Description of Practice:
David Zaro is a partner in the firm's Los Angeles office, where his practice focuses upon litigation with an emphasis upon complex creditors' rights, bankruptcy and construction litigation. Mr. Zaro has extensive experience as a creditors' rights and bankruptcy lawyer as well as a trial lawyer in federal and state courts in California and several other jurisdictions. Mr. Zaro's experience in the field of insolvency, creditors' rights and bankruptcy litigation includes out-of-court workouts and restructurings, federal and state court receiverships and bankruptcy reorganization proceedings. In connection with this work, Mr. Zaro represents a wide range of clients including institutional lenders, developers, landlords, secured and unsecured creditors and business enterprises. Mr. Zaro's practice also includes all aspects of construction litigation, including breach of contract, delay, design, mechanic's liens, stop notices, bid protests, construction defects, insurance, termination, sureties, and claim avoidance. Mr. Zaro is recognized for his handling of civil litigation through trial and where possible, has resolved numerous matters through alternative dispute processes, including mediation and arbitration.
Mr. Zaro has been active as a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association-Construction Law Subsection where he previously served as the Chairman and a member of the Steering Committee. He is also a member of the Financial Lawyer's Conference, the California Bankruptcy Forum, American Bankruptcy Institute and the Business Section of the American Bar Association. |
