David R. Ryder is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery UK LLP, based in its London office. He is head of McDermott's International Practice Group, a member of its Tax Department and a member of its Management Committee.
David's practice focuses on general corporate tax matters, with a heavy concentration in U.S. aspects of international transactions and structures. He works predominantly and extensively with multinational corporations. David has participated in a substantial number of acquisitions, reorganizations and joint ventures involving foreign operations of U.S. companies and multinationals. David also has particular expertise in the tax aspects of structured finance transactions and extensive experience in working with the tax and corporate laws of many countries.
A frequent speaker at national and international conferences in the areas of his practice, he has also written numerous articles on international tax matters. David is a director of several U.S. and foreign corporations. In addition, he was specifically named in BTI Consulting Group's 2001 Law Firm Client Service All-Star Team survey of Fortune 1000 clients, in recognition of his superior level of client service.
David is a member of the state bars of Florida and Illinois. He is one of 30 members of the Chicago International Tax Seminar group, and is the founder and chairman of the EC Tax Roundtable Group, which holds conferences twice a year in Europe with participants from 14 countries.
