David Mason Biography :

David Mason is a principal in the Commercial Finance Group with over 20 years' experience, principally representing banks and other commercial lenders in cash-flow transactions that provide for acquisition, working capital, capital expenditure, mezzanine and build-up financing. Mr. Mason also represents asset-based lenders and has been engaged in loan restructurings, bankruptcies and workout matters. He has been involved with industry consolidation loans and purchase order financing. Mr. Mason distinguishes himself by his ability to turn deals around quickly yet with the accuracy demanded by lenders. Lenders Mr. Mason represents typically service middle market borrowers with average transactions ranging from $20 million to $300 million. His finance practice exposes him to legal issues facing a wide array of industries, both regulated and unregulated, including various retail, manufacturing and service industries.

Mr. Mason has authored several publications, including "Documenting Loans for Leveraged Buildups," Commercial Lending Review (Winter 2000-2001), and "Early Stage Workout Documentation and Procedures," The Banking Law Journal (September 2001). He also co-authored "Those Third Party Opinions: Can Loan Transaction Costs Be Reduced?" Business Law Today (September/October 1997), and "Real Estate Documentation for Commercial Lenders," The Secured Lender (September/October 1995). Mr. Mason lectures on a variety of commercial finance topics, including revised article 9 and attorney opinion letters. Mr. Mason was elected Beta Gamma Sigma and Beta Alpha Psi. He is a certified public accountant and a recipient of the Elijah Watt Sells Award (awarded to the top 3 percent on the CPA examination). In 2003, Mr. Mason was elected as a Fellow of the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers.
