David Sullivan is a registered patent attorney and a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property and Technology group. Mr. Sullivan’s practice is primarily directed at obtaining and enforcing patent rights for his clients, who range from Fortune 500 companies to small start-ups with emerging technology. With a background in Chemical Engineering and a longtime attraction to the oilfield, Mr. Sullivan’s patent practice is focused primarily on the energy-sector, with a particular emphasis on downhole equipment, secondary production, well stimulation and refinery technologies. Mr. Sullivan has also been involved in numerous patent infringement lawsuits involving subject matter ranging from coiled-tubing equipment to electronic patient monitoring devices. In addition to counseling clients on patent-related issues, Mr. Sullivan also devotes a significant portion of his practice to intellectual property licensing and other transactional matters. Mr. Sullivan routinely assists clients with the negotiation of software licenses, consulting contracts and joint development agreements. |
