David L. Squier is a Senior Advisor to Carlyle’s U.S. Buyout group. He serves as a consultant and board member for several Carlyle portfolio companies. He is currently Chairman of Firth Rixson, Ltd. and United Components, Inc. and serves on the board of Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc.
Mr. Squier was formerly President and Chief Executive Officer of Howmet Corporation, a post he held from April 1992 to October 2000. He was associated with Howmet in a number of senior management assignments for more than 20 years. As Chief Executive Officer, he was responsible for the operations of an organization with more than $1 billion in annual sales and 29 manufacturing facilities in five countries. Mr. Squier first joined Howmet in 1971. He served as Plant Manager at the company’s Casting units in Hampton, Virginia, and Wichita Falls, Texas, before being named Vice President in charge of Howmet’s refurbishment activities in 1983. He was named Vice President of Product Support Operations in 1984, Senior Vice President of the Product Support Group in 1985, Executive Vice President in 1988 and Chief Operating Officer in 1991. Mr. Squier was a member of the Howmet Board of Directors from 1987 until his retirement in October 2000.
Mr. Squier holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Lehigh University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. |
