David K. Hou is an associate in Boylan Brown's Litigation, Intellectual Property, and Entertainment Law practice groups, and is experienced in all aspects of civil and commercial litigation, including arbitration, bench and jury trial experience. Mr. Hou also has experience in representing clients in copyright, trademark and trade secret disputes. He is a graduate of Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts (1992), a graduate of the University of Chicago (B.A., 1996), and earned his law degree from Boston University School of Law (J.D., 1999), where he was an Article Editor for the Journal of Science and Technology Law. Mr. Hou is the author of Protecting Internet Trade Dress: What To Do About Product Configurations?, 5 B.U. J. SCI. TECH. L. 7 (1999). He is admitted to practice before the New York State Courts and the United States District Courts for the Western, Northern, and Southern District Courts of New York, and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of New York. Mr. Hou is an active member of the Rochester Inns of Court, and is a member of the Monroe County, New York State, and American Bar Associations.

Represented nationally known artists in prosecuting copyright infringement claims and miscellaneous contract negotiations.
Mr. Hou has served on the Board of Directors for The Rochester Bach Festival, Inc., a not-for-profit organization which performs and presents classical music performances in western and upstate New York. He has also served on the Board of Contributors for the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, where he has been a contributor to, and a featured author of, a variety of articles regarding matters of local interest.
