David Duffee advises financial institutions in US and cross-border financings, with a particular focus on secured transactions and acquisitions. His finance work has also included international project finance and sovereign and private-sector debt restructuring, including debtor-in-possession financings and work-outs.
Investment banks, commercial banks, hedge funds, finance companies, insurance companies and governmental entities are major clients in David’s practice. He also provides transactional counsel to corporate borrowers and to financial advisors. David has served clients as a member of Mayer Brown since 1994.
Notable Engagements:
Advised ABN AMRO Bank and Deutsche Bank on their financing of the 2006 purchase of Enron's non-US assets by Ashmore Investment Management. The deal, worth $2.9 billion, involved the sale of 14 companies in 11 countries.
Represented GE Capital in its financing of the 2007 acquisition by One Equity Partners of Aluprint, the Mexican packaging company.
Continuing representation of creditors of Altos Hornos de México, which has been in insolvency proceedings since 1999.
