Mr. Sensenig is a partner in the Firm’s Litigation Group. He focuses his practice on commercial litigation with an emphasis on intellectual property and business tort litigation. He has extensive experience in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, and in other Federal Courts around the country. He has first-chair jury and bench trial experience in a number of Virginia state courts and has also argued successfully before the Virginia Supreme Court. Business Objects S.A. and Business Objects Americas, Inc.: defended Business Objects in litigation alleging patent infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets and tortious interference. After a two week trial, secured judgment as a matter of law on the tortious interference claims and later secured summary judgment of non-infringement on the patent claims. Assisted in Silicon Image, Inc. v. Genesis Microchip: represented Silicon Image’s patents covering the Digital Visual Interface ( DVI ) standard. Successfully moved to dismiss the defendants’ counterclaims for fraud, attempted monopolization and patent misuse. Favorable settlement was obtained. In subsequent litigation over the terms of settlement, prevailed in an 89-page opinion issued by Judge Robert E.
