David Pauldine began serving as president for DeVry University on July 1, 2006 with the charge of increasing undergraduate enrollments while maintaining academic quality and providing graduates with the skills and knowledge to meet the needs of employers. Since re-joining DeVry in October 2005, Pauldine served as executive vice president for DeVry Inc., where he oversaw the marketing and recruiting functions for DeVry University.
Pauldine has 27 years of experience in for-profit, post-secondary education where he has held a number of leadership positions. He began his career in 1979 as a recruiting advisor with DeVry and subsequently served in a variety of recruitment management positions at DeVry. Pauldine served 16 years with Education Management Corporation where he last served as president of The Art Institutes system of schools – an $800 million division of EDMC, and executive vice president responsible for Greenfield start-up operations. Previously, Pauldine held positions as chief marketing officer and campus president at the Seattle and Fort Lauderdale Art Institutes.
Pauldine earned his bachelor's degree in communication arts from the University of Dayton in 1979 and later earned his Master of Arts in leadership from Antioch University in 1997.
Pauldine has been an active member in his communities and has served as a board member for several organizations including the American Red Cross, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, Communities in Schools, and ASPIRA. He is also the past president of the Washington Federation of Private Vocational Schools and the Northwest Career College Association.
Pauldine lives in Elmhurst with his wife and two children. |
