David Goldstein Biography :

Since 1986, David Goldstein has been providing practical advice to help employers manage their employees and achieve their business objectives. As a counselor, David has assisted employers with regard to all of the laws and regulations that apply to the employment relationship. As a litigator, David defends employers before administrative agencies and in the courts, helping clients define and achieve their goals in litigation through value-added and cost-effective representation. As both counselor and advocate, David is proactive in identifying and implementing creative solutions to help businesses avoid and resolve disputes. Counseling David has represented a wide range of public and private employers with regard to all aspects of the employment relationship, from drafting and implementing policies to helping employers respond in a timely fashion to the myriad issues that can arise in the workplace. David’s experience ranges from working directly with the chief executives of Fortune 500 companies to handling calls from foremen on the shop floor. Representative clients include: CBS M. A. Mortenson Company General Dynamics. The Minnesota Vikings Target Corporation Luther College David is one of the region’s leading authorities on affirmative action and devotes a significant portion of his practice to assisting employers in preparing and obtaining approval of affirmative action plans and in representing government contractors in connection with OFCCP, state, and local compliance reviews. He also speaks and writes frequently on affirmative action issues. Litigation David has represented clients in bench and jury trials in state and federal courts and in appeals before the Minnesota Court of Appeals, the Minnesota Supreme Court, and United States Courts of Appeal for the Seventh and Eighth Circuits. He has had lead or substantial authority in successfully defending a number of class actions. David is experienced in using mediation and other dispute-resolution techniques to resolve claims effectively and efficiently. He is experienced in drafting complex settlement agreements and consent decrees involving multiple parties and /or government agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. With his background in economics and statistics, David is often involved in cases requiring statistical analysis or work with statistical experts. His presentation on when, how, and why to use statistical evidence has been featured at the annual Minnesota Employment Law Institute.
