David is a partner in the real estate department. He is the chair of the real estate finance practice group and is a member of the real estate development and limited liability companies and partnerships practice groups. In addition, he currently serves as a member of the firm's Diversity Committee. David focuses his practice in the areas of real estate joint ventures, public/private partnerships, real estate financing, affordable housing, and real estate taxation. He represents both real estate investors and developers in the structuring and negotiation of real estate equity and debt financing. David also represents owners and developers in the acquisition, disposition, and financing of low and moderate income housing. Additionally, he represents real estate developers in negotiating for development incentives from local governments.

Represented a national banking association in a joint venture of an office/residential/parking complex.
Represented the owner of an 11-property portfolio in a merger transaction with a publicly-traded real estate investment trust.
Represented property owner in a joint venture with a large regional commercial developer involving the development of a 100-acre phased retail project.
Represented publicly-traded real estate investment trust in the negotiation of a $400 million secured revolving credit facility.
Represented major regional retail developer in the structuring of joint venture transaction with a national pension fund advisor for the completion and operation of an approximately $92 million dollar retail center.
Represented large North Carolina non-profit corporation in the structure of a building redevelopment using federal historic rehabilitation tax credits and federal new market tax credits.
