David E. Weiss has been serving as Senior Vice President and General Counsel since March 2006. His management of the legal aspects of the company's day-to-day operations includes developments redevelopments acquisitions dispositions leasing litigation commercial financing transactions and general corporate matters. Before joining Developers Diversified in 1999 Mr. Weiss was a partner with McDonald Hopkins Burke & Haber Co. LPA in Cleveland.
A former council member for the City of Shaker Heights Mr. Weiss is a member of the 2004 class of Leadership Cleveland. He currently serves as president of Shaker Family Center and is a member of the Visiting Committee of the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and the Law Committee for ICSC. He also co-chairs the Cuyahoga County Policy Sub-Committee advising the county on the development of a universal pre-kindergarten system.
Mr. Weiss earned his B.A. in political science from the University of Michigan and is a graduate of Ohio State University College of Law. He is a member of the Cleveland Ohio and American Bar Associations NAREIT and ICSC.
