David E. Preng is president of Preng & Associates, an executive recruiting company he founded in 1980. Preng & Asociates focuses exclusively on matching senior-level business executives seeking board of director, chief executive and other upper-level assignments with energy and natural resources companies in both the United States and Europe. Preng, who has managed numerous global engagements for a variety of multinational clients, coordinates Preng & Associates' worldwide practice and is directly responsible for Russian, CIS and Far East recruiting in North America. Prior to founding Preng & Associates, he spent six years in the executive search industry. His industry background includes financial, managerial and executive positions with Shell Oil Company, Litton Industries and Southwest Industries. Preng earned his Bachelor of Science from Marquette University and his MBA from DePaul University. From 1997 to 2006, he was a director of Remington Oil and Gas, where, in addition to chairing its Nomination & Governance Committee, he served as lead independent director and Compensation Committee member. During his tenure on Remington’s board, it was acquired by Cal Dive International, Inc. Preng also serves on the board of directors of Maverick Oil & Gas, Inc., where he chairs its Compensation Committee. He is a director of Community National Bank as well as the Houston Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors, a a member of Texas A&M's International Board. Additionally, he is a fellow of the Institute of Directors in London, and has served three terms as director and two years as president of the British American Business Council.
