Admiral David E. Jeremiah, U.S. Navy (Ret.), is president of Technology Strategies & Alliances Corporation, a strategic advisory and investment banking firm engaged primarily in the aerospace, defense, telecommunications, and electronics industries. In addition to his corporate responsibilities at ATK, ManTech, Todd Shipyard, Wackenhut Services, In-Q-Tel, and Geobiotics, Admiral Jeremiah is a member of the Defense Policy Board, the National Defense Panel, and a Defense Science Board task force on human resources. He also headed an external panel that reviewed the organizational structure of the National Reconnaissance Office.
During his military career, Admiral Jeremiah earned a reputation as an authority on strategic planning, financial management, and the policy implications of advanced technology. Prior to leaving active military service in 1994, he served as vice chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, under Generals Powell and Shalikashvili.
Admiral Jeremiah was commander in chief of the U.S. Pacific Fleet from 1987 to 1990. He commanded a task force, a battle group, and a destroyer squadron in earlier tours in the Mediterranean. In October 1985 he directed the capture of the Achille Lauro hijackers, and in 1986, he led combat operations against Libya in the Gulf of Sidra. Ashore, Admiral Jeremiah served as director of Navy program planning and in financial planning positions on the staffs of the secretary of defense and the chief of naval operations.
Admiral Jeremiah has received U.S. and foreign awards, including the Presidential Citizens Award presented by George H.W. Bush for the Gulf War; the Defense Distinguished Service Medal; five Navy Distinguished Service Medals; Army, Air Force, and Coast Guard Distinguished Service Medals; Legion of Merit with Gold Star; the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun (Japan); Kingdom of Thailand Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand; and Republic of Korea Order of National Security Merit (Samil) Medal. Admiral Jeremiah was also the first foreign recipient of the Order of Australia (Military Division) and received the University of Oregon Pioneer Award for Distinguished Graduates.
Admiral Jeremiah earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Oregon and a master's degree in financial management from George Washington University. He also completed the Program for Management Development at Harvard University.
