C. David Cush was appointed Senior Vice President of Global Sales in March 2006. He will be responsible for all sales activities worldwide, including those in Latin America, Europe and Asia.
Previously, Cush had served as American’s Vice President and General Sales Manager since December 2003. He was responsible for leading American's sales team and for developing all sales policies worldwide.
In September 2002, Cush was appointed Vice President of St. Louis Hub. He was responsible for American’s airport operations at the carrier’s newest mid-continent hub with more than 200 daily mainline jet departures and more than 7,000 employees.
Previously, Cush had served as Vice President of International Planning and Alliances since March 2000. A 14-year veteran of American Airlines with broad, strategic experience in international markets, Cush was responsible for managing American’s key international airline alliances and for strengthening the airline’s global route network through those partnerships.
To take on this role, Cush returned to American from Aerolineas Argentinas, where he had been Chief Operating Officer since November 1998.
Cush originally joined American in financial planning in 1986. In 1989, he was assigned to American’s regional headquarters in London as Managing Director of Finance and Administration for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. From 1992 until March 1996, he was a member of the Miami, Caribbean, Latin America Division, serving first as Managing Director of Finance and Administration for Miami, the Caribbean and Latin America, and then as Managing Director of the Caribbean and Central America, with marketing and operational responsibilities in those areas.
In April 1996, Cush moved to American’s corporate headquarters as Managing Director of International Planning, the post he held before leaving for Aerolineas Argentinas.
Cush was born and raised in Shreveport, La. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Broadcast/Film and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, in 1982. A year later, he received a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from SMU. |
