David B. Apfelberg, MD, Chairman of the Medical Advisory Board, is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at Stanford University Medical Center and past Director of the Atherton Plastic Surgery and Laser Center in Atherton, California. He has authored five books on laser physiology, medicine and surgery as well as 133 peer reviewed medical journal articles and 38 book chapters. He has presented papers or chaired courses on laser surgery on a national and international basis since 1978 and has taught as a Visiting Professor for American and foreign academic institutions. Dr. Apfelberg has been involved in the development of emerging technologies for medical companies for over 26 years. Since 1987, he has served as a consultant and advisor to entrepreneurs and venture capitalists requesting advice and due diligence research. He has also served on the boards of numerous medical technology start-up companies, including Altus Medical, Cardiogenesis Corporation, Innovative Health Concepts, and Indigo Medical. |
