Professional Experience
Prior to joining Huron, Dave was a vice president of professional services at OMSolutions. He had operational responsibility for the planning, directing, and implementation of complex operational improvement projects in community and multi-hospital healthcare systems.
Teams were multi-disciplinary including nurses, technicians, IT, and operations experts across 11 states in the Midwest. Successfully helped a number of hospitals and health systems save millions in costs and improve operational efficiencies.
Worked with hospitals to assess operations and organizational structure, identify opportunities, and implement detailed plans for clinical and financial improvement. Worked with senior executives, physicians, and other clinical staff of the hospitals and health systems to identify objectives and manage the engagement to meet/exceed those objectives.
Dave’s healthcare consulting experience includes the following:
A comprehensive reengineering/cost reduction project for a 300 bed urban hospital in Chicago.
Worked with chief executive officers and boards to develop strategic and business plans for community hospitals and ambulatory care centers.
Performed operational and financial improvement engagements for several physician practices.
Redesigned the care management processes in a large academic hospital.
Performed operational reviews of various providers, including information systems and inpatient management processes.
Developed the ambulatory care delivery component of the master plan for a large university health system in Quebec, Canada.
Consulted with the chief executive officer and board on the organizational redesign for the MidCentral Regional Health System in New Zealand.
Identified cost savings opportunities and developed implementation plans for a large multi-specialty group in California.
