David Applebaum practices class action litigation, complex litigation, and antitrust litigation and counseling. While at Leonard, Street and Deinard, and previously at O’Melveny & Myers LLP in Washington, D.C., David has represented large corporations in class actions and other complex litigations venued in federal and state courts throughout the country. He has also represented clients in antitrust investigations before the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Justice.
David clerked for the Honorable Thomas A. Wiseman Jr., U.S. District Court, Middle District of Tennessee and Justice Frank F. Drowota III, Tennessee Supreme Court.
Representative experience:
Defending corporations in federal and state court class actions, including
class actions brought against a large student loan company, a mobile
telephone content services provider, one of the largest HMOs, one of the
largest automakers, and a large telecommunications company
Serving as lead counsel for a large financial services company in an out-of-
state bench trial
Serving as lead counsel for a software developer in a copyright license
agreement litigation
Defending a cable company in an antitrust investigation brought by the
Federal Trade Commission
Defending a technology company as a member of the trial and litigation
team in one of the largest International Trade Commission cases, in a
multi-district litigation involving antitrust claims, and before the
Department of Justice in an antitrust investigation
