Dave Shirk is executive vice president of global marketing for UGS PLM Software (UGS), a division of Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D). UGS is a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services with 4.4 million licensed seats and 47,000 customers worldwide. In his current role, Shirk directs worldwide marketing and go-to-market strategy for UGS' full suite of software and services offerings worldwide.
Shirk previously served as senior vice president of Products, Strategy and Worldwide Marketing at Vignette Corp. While there he established the company's leadership position through innovative worldwide product introductions, improved sales models and processes, effective branding and strategic acquisitions.
Before joining Vignette, Shirk served as senior vice president of product marketing and product management at Novell Corporation. While at Novell, Shirk managed Novell's Net Services Software strategy, and the roadmap for all of Novell's products. Prior to his tenure at Novell, Shirk served as vice president of marketing for Oracle Corporation's Industry Applications Division. In this role, he built the vertical industry go-to-market capability for Oracle, which tripled its applications revenue during his tenure.
A graduate of The Ohio State University, Shirk brings more than 17 years of experience in strategy, sales, marketing, product development, product marketing, business applications and vertical industry business solutions to UGS.
Dave Shirk enjoys auto and shifter kart racing, and spending time with his wife, Dina, and son, Austin. He is based at UGS' corporate headquarters in Plano, Texas. |
