Drafted by the Cardinals with their second selection in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft, Blackstock saw action in 14 games with one start in his rookie season of 2005. He appeared in all 16 games with one start in 2006.
2006: Saw action on defense and special teams in his second season in Arizona, appearing in all 16 games with one start had three special teams tackles in the opener vs. SF (9/10) started his second career game at outside linebacker @ Sea (9/17) and recorded one special teams tackle appeared on special teams and defense @ Oak (10/22) collecting his first career fumble recovery, caused by a Bertrand Berry sack in the second quarter; also added one tackle established a career high with four tackles as a reserve linebacker and recorded three special teams tackles @ GB (10/29) recovered Neil Rackers’ onside kick with 39 seconds left in the game to give the Cardinals a chance to win the game in the final seconds @ Min (11/26).
