Darren Edmonstone is Vice President, Acquisitions and Development for Outrigger Enterprises Group.
Mr. Edmonstone is responsible for identifying and negotiating new hospitality investment and management opportunities for Outrigger.
Prior to joining Outrigger in 2005, Mr. Edmonstone spent more than 10 years in Asia with Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels Limited, owners of The Peninsula Group hotels and commercial properties. During this time, Mr. Edmonstone was involved in a number of development projects in Vietnam, Thailand, the People's Republic of China and Hong Kong. In his position as Group Deputy General Manager for Peninsula Properties, he was responsible for the business direction, operations, capital improvements, project planning and joint venture management for the Peninsula Properties division. While with the Peninsula Group, he also served in the positions of General Manager and Financial Controller for Vietnam and Finance Director during the pre-opening period of The Peninsula Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. Mr. Edmonstone's move to Asia was preceded by a three-year period in the United Kingdom with the hospitality arm of the Kuwaiti Investment Office where he was a strategic part of a "turnaround" task force. Prior to this, Mr. Edmonstone spent five years with the Sheraton Hotels group where he was a member of the pre-opening team for four Sheraton Hotels in Australia.
Mr. Edmonstone is currently President and member of the board of the Australian American Chamber of Commerce in Hawaii.
Mr. Edmonstone was born and raised in Australia, where he completed his education. He has completed a number of executive development programs with institutions and has a background in finance. |
