Darren S. Berger is a partner in the firm and co-chairs the firm's Real Estate practice group and also practices in the General Business practice group. Mr. Berger is engaged in the practice of business representation, real estate and estate planning/business succession. A native New Yorker, Mr. Berger received his B.A. from the University of Vermont in 1982 and graduated from the University of San Diego Law School in 1986. He was admitted to practice in New York in 1987, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and is also a member of the New Jersey and Florida Bars.
Mr. Berger has represented a wide range of companies and individuals in areas that include the sale of retail products and services; distribution, manufacturing and licensing in a variety of industries; real estate ownership and management; sale and purchase of businesses; and negotiation of commercial leases for retail, office, shopping center and loft users. Mr. Berger has extensive business and real estate experience managing commercial properties and in two different family-owned businesses. He has lectured on a variety of topics which have included financial planning and wealth management for family businesses, corporate law aspects of real estate ventures and preparing and drafting the Operating Agreement of a Limited Liability Company.
Mr. Berger is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, and the New York State, Florida and American Bar Associations. Mr. Berger is an active member of the Building and Property Committee of the YMCA of Greater New York and a participant on the Family Office Advisory Council. |
