Darol Lindloff is the chief executive officer of Panda Ethanol. Prior to this, he was chief operating officer, having held the same position with its founding company, Panda Energy International, since February 2005. In this role, Mr. Lindloff is responsible for technology selection, engineering, procurement, construction, start-up, training and day-to-day operations associated with the development and performance of the company's ethanol and renewable energy projects. He is also responsible for the management of commodities, fuels and transportation as they are required for the production and movement of revenue-producing products. In the role of overall asset management, he and his staff continually explore all avenues of operation, feed stocks, fuel supply, commodity sales and contractual options in order to maximize asset value to the corporation.
With more than 40 years of experience in the chemical process industry and in electric power generation, Mr. Lindloff has been directly involved in systems and plant design, construction, start-up, operations, project development, project financing and executive management. He joined Panda in 1989 and has held executive management positions where he has overseen business and project development, engineering, construction and asset management. From January 1997 to 2000, Mr. Lindloff served as president of Panda Energy International. His service has been punctuated by the construction and operation of two domestic PURPA-qualified independent power plants; the development, construction and operation of two international power generating facilities; two 1,000 MW Texas-based merchant power plants; and the construction completion of two of the largest gas-fired merchant power facilities in the nation — each rated at 2,250 MW.
Prior to joining Panda, Mr. Lindloff spent four years managing development of power and steam cogeneration projects for Hawker Siddley Power Engineering, and Central and Southwest Corporation. He spent seven years in the air pollution control industry, where as a regional manager, he was involved in the design, sale and operation of electrostatic precipitators, fabric filter collectors and SO2 scrubbers as they applied to the coal-fired electric utility industry. Earlier in his career, he spent eleven years with Airco Industrial Gases as an applications engineer and later, as regional sales manager. In these roles, he was responsible for the development of applications, systems design and sale of air separated gases, i.e. oxygen, nitrogen and argon, in addition to the production and uses of CO2. This association provided an experience base rooted in the chemical and petrochemical industry; combustion technologies for iron, steel and nonferrous metals production; welding and manufacturing of heavy equipment, structures and vehicles; the freezing and preserving of food products; and the support of fuel and pressurizing systems for the early NASA space program.
Mr. Lindloff is a graduate of Southwestern University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organic Chemistry. |
