Dan Baker is a partner in the firm’s Banking Department. He has been practicing law since joining Chapman and Cutler LLP in 1995. Mr. Baker’s practice consists primarily of representing banks and other financial institutions in documenting and structuring secured and unsecured transactions. His experience includes asset-based financings, cash flow loans, working capital revolving credit financings, real estate finance transactions and cross-border credits. He has also represented lenders in out-of-court workouts and restructurings. In addition, Mr. Baker maintains an active pro bono practice. Representative transactions include: Counsel to agent bank in Cdn$328,000,000 unsecured acquisition loan to facilitate an acquisition in Canada by a US entertainment conglomerate. Counsel to an agent bank in a Cdn$90,000,000 unsecured revolving credit facility for two affiliates of a large US-based REIT. Counsel to a bank in a $10,000,000 asset-based revolving credit facility to a beauty products company. Counsel to a bank in a $22,000,000 second lien loan to a national staffing company. Counsel to agent bank on a $100,000,000 syndicated, unsecured multicurrency credit facility to a manufacturer of packaging equipment. |
