Danny Rifkin became an Executive Vice President and a Director of Steel Dynamics upon the closing of the acquisition of OmniSource Corporation, October 26, 2007. He also now serves as President and Chief Operating Officer of OmniSource, a wholly owned subsidiary of Steel Dynamics. Formerly he was the President and CEO of OmniSource Corporation, a privately held metals recycling company based in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Danny joined Superior Companies (predecessor to OmniSource) in 1977, after completing a bachelor's degree in business at the University of Miami. After holding various positions in ferrous and non-ferrous operations, he became general manager of a subsidiary in South Bend, Indiana. In 1992, he was named vice president and general manager of the Indiana Ferrous Group. In 1997 he succeeded Leonard Rifkin as President and Chief Operating Officer of OmniSource. In 2007, Danny became Chief Executive Officer of OmniSource. |
