Mr. Speight was the Vice Chairman, Chief Financial Officer and a director of Flag Financial Corporation, a bank holding company, and of Flag Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of Flag Financial from 1998 to 2006. Mr. Speight served as Chief Executive Officer and a director of Middle Georgia Bankshares, Inc. from 1989 until its merger with Flag Financial Corporation in March 1998 and has served in various positions as President, Chief Executive Officer and a director of Citizens Bank and the resultant Flag Financial Corporation since 1984. Mr. Speight previously served as Chairman of The Bankers Bank and has served as a managing principal in Bankers Capital Group LLC since 2006 and of counsel for the law firm James, Bates, Pope & Spivey in Macon, Georgia since February 2008. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia. He is past Chairman of the Georgia Bankers Association Community Banking Committee, past President of the Community Bankers Association of Georgia, and past director of the Independent Bankers Association of America. |
