Governor Evans has served as one of NIC's directors since November 1998 and is the chairman of and has served as a consultant for Daniel J. Evans Associates, a Washington consulting company, since May 1989. He served as a U.S. Senator from September 1983 to January 1989 and the Governor of the state of Washington from January 1965 until January 1977. Governor Evans also currently serves as a director of Flow International, a water jet cutting company; Western Wireless Corporation, a wireless communications company; COSTCO, a retailer, and Cray Computer, a computer manufacturing company. Governor Evans holds a B.S. and an M.S. in civil engineering from the University of Washington.
