Practice Emphasis Administrative law, business regulation and government relations, with a focus on commercial gaming, public utilities, financial services institutions and eminent domain.Professional Experience Dan Reaser counsels and represents clients in a variety of administrative law and regulatory matters before federal, state and local agencies or public bodies and the courts judicially reviewing governmental action. Mr. Reaser's practice concentrates on matters involving public utilities, gaming applicants and licensees in Nevada and on Native American lands, as well as financial services institutions. His practice also includes representation of property owners in eminent domain proceedings and regulatory takings matters and taxpayers before state and local administrative bodies in real property, sales, use and other state excise taxation matters. Mr. Reaser is recognized in Best Lawyers in America for public utilities law and gaming law, and is featured in the Chambers & Partners guide of America's Leading Lawyers for Business in the fields of gaming and licensing. He also has an AV rating in the Martindale-Hubbell directory. Mr. Reaser is the Vice Chairman of the Firm's Gaming & Regulatory Law Department and serves on the Firm's Executive Committee.Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Reaser served in the Office of the Attorney General of Nevada for eight years, as Chief Deputy for the Gaming Division between 1986 and 1990, where he represented the Nevada Gaming Commission and the Nevada State Gaming Control Board. He also served as Chief Counsel to the Nevada Department of Transportation and during his tenure as a deputy attorney general was counsel to the Nevada Commissions on Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Protection and the State Departments of Agriculture, Corrections, Minerals and Wildlife. Financial Services: Nevada Financial Institution Division approvals of merger of First Republic Bank with Merrill Lynch Bank & Trust Co., FSB (2007), for formation of Schwab Bank, N.A.
