Christy Burmeister-Smith is vice president, controller and principal accounting officer for Avista Corp. She is responsible for financial and accounting activities, as well as records of the corporation, its assets and
its business affiliates. Burmeister-Smith joined Avista Corp. in 1980 as an accountant and has served in a variety of roles in the accounting area, including controller for the company’s energy delivery business unit. Prior to her current position, she was the vice president and controller for the corporation. Burmeister-Smith graduated from Boise State University in 1980 with a bachelor of arts degree in business administration, and soon after passed the CPA exam. She has completed course work throughout her career in both technical and leadership areas, and currently serves as a board member for the Avista Foundation and Spokane ounty United Way. |
