Christy L. Beaudin, Ph.D., began her assignment Childrens Hospital Los Angeles on August 14, 2006. She was corporate director, quality improvement, for PacifiCare Behavioral Health, Van Nuys, CA, prior to her appointment at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.
Dr. Beaudin is responsible for the overall clinical quality and performance improvement program at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, building on the hospital’s recognized reputation. She is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) of the Healthcare Quality Certification Board/National Association for Healthcare Quality, and she also is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Dr. Beaudin is a Fellow of the California Health-Care Foundation Leadership Program and the National Association for Healthcare Quality.
Dr. Beaudin was vice president, research and development at Magellan Behavioral Health, Columbia, MD, before her appointment at PacifiCare. She was corporate vice president, quality management, at Value Behavioral Health, Falls Church, VA (1996 to 1998); and president/health care consultant at CL Beaudin & Associates, Santa Monica, CA (1990 to 1996).
She was senior program administrator NME, Psychiatric Management Services, Washington D.C. (1986 to 1988).
Dr. Beaudin also has been associated with Brotman Medical Center, Culver City, CA, and Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, San Diego, CA.
She has been a guest lecturer in the Department of Health Services at the UCLA School of Public Health (1996-2004) and in the Department of Professional Studies at Chapman University (2000-01).
Dr. Beaudin was a research associate for the Tibbitts Research Project (1994-95); project manager for the Yale University Six Cities Study on Trusteeship in Nonprofit Organizations for the Department of Health Services at the UCLA School of Public Health (1992-94); and research associate for the Cost/Utilization Study PACE Project at UCLA/Veterans Administration Medical Center, Sepulveda, CA., (1992-93).
She is the author of 27 articles in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters and case studies, as well as 24 articles in other publications and numerous reports and studies.
Dr. Beaudin has been an examiner/subject matter expert for numerous advisory panels and boards throughout the United States.
She is a frequent speaker at regional and national meetings and conferences.
Dr. Beaudin is a member of the editorial board/review panel for the Journal of Healthcare Quality, and she was special issue editor for International Healthcare, published in the May-June 2005 issue, as well as for issues published in July-August 2002 and in July-August 2000.
Dr. Beaudin is also a member of the editorial/review panel for the Journal of Behavioral Health Services & Research and the Community-International Journal of Mental Health and Addiction.
Dr. Beaudin is a member of the Association of Behavioral Healthcare Management, the American Case Management Association, the California Association for Healthcare Quality, the American Society for Quality, the American College for Mental Health Administration, the National Association for Healthcare Quality and AcademyHealth.
Dr. Beaudin received a bachelor’s degree from California State University, San Bernardino (1978), and a master’s degree in social work from San Diego State University (1981). She received a Ph.D. in health services from the University of California, Los Angeles (1997). |
