Chris O’Connell was appointed Senior Vice President and President of Medtronic Diabetes in October 2006. Located in Northridge California Medtronic Diabetes is the world leader in insulin infusion pumps continuous glucose monitoring systems therapy management software and related support services. O’Connell is a member of Medtronic’s Executive and Operating Committees.
O’Connell has been with Medtronic since 1994 and has held a variety of leadership positions within the company. Most recently he served as President of Medtronic’s Emergency Response Systems division formerly Physio-Control Corporation. Previously O’Connell held leadership positions in Medtronic’s Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management division including Vice President of Sales and Marketing and Vice President/General Manager of the Patient Management Business. He has also led key Corporate functions as Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Director of Investor Relations. O’Connell began his Medtronic career in Corporate Development.
Before joining Medtronic O’Connell worked for the Corporate Finance unit of Chemical Bank. He earned a bachelors degree from Northwestern University in 1989 and a masters degree in business administration from Harvard University in 1994. |
