Christine F. Li is a partner of the firm in its Real Estate Department and member of the Planned Real Estate Practice Group. Ms. Li concentrates her practice in condominium and planned real estate development law, including the conversion of rental properties to the condominium form of ownership, mixed-use developments, commercial and business condominiums, workouts of distressed communities, community association law, and the registration of planned real estate developments with the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs. Ms. Li’s practice also includes the acquisition and sale, financing and leasing of commercial and residential real estate. Ms. Li represents developers, sponsors of the conversion of rental properties, community associations, successor sponsors of existing communities, and lending institutions in her practice. Ms. Li is co-author of the 2007 edition of New Jersey Condominium and Community Association Law, published by Gann Law Books. Ms. Li is the author of the textbook entitled, Real Estate Closing Procedures, Practical Skills Series, published by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education (ICLE). She is the contributing author of the Common Interest Ownership in Commercial Real Estate chapter of ICLE’s 2006 publication, Commercial Real Estate Transactions in New Jersey. Since 1988, she has served as an instructor of the New Jersey Real Estate Law and Practice component of the Skills and Methods Course administered by ICLE. In 2000, ICLE awarded Ms. Li a Distinguished Service Award for excellence in continuing legal education. In 2003, she was recognized in the New Jersey Law Journal’s annual report on leaders among women and minority lawyers in New Jersey. In 2006, she was also recognized as one of New Jersey’s prominent real estate lawyers by Real Estate New Jersey magazine. Ms. Li is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL) and is listed in Chambers USA - America’s Leading Business Lawyers. She serves as a member of the Board of Consultors of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s (NJSBA) Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section. Ms. Li served on the Ad Hoc Committee on the Skills and Methods Course created by the New Jersey Supreme Court and on the Amicus Committee of the NJSBA. Ms. Li is also a member of the Asian Pacific American Lawyers Association of New Jersey and is listed in the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association’s Directory of Asian Pacific American Partners and Senior Attorneys in Major U.S. Law Firms. She has served as an elected member of the Board of Directors and vice president of the New Jersey Chapter of the Community Associations Institute (CAI). Ms. Li is a mediator certified by CAI in the area of alternative dispute resolution. She presently serves as a member of CAI’s Legislative Action Committee, and previously on several other CAI committees, such as the Uniform Common Interest Ownership Act Task Force, Education Committee, and Editorial Committee. Ms. Li has lectured at many seminars sponsored by CAI, ICLE, Lorman Education Services, the New Jersey Builders Association, the New Jersey Land Title Institute, and other professional and trade organizations. Ms. Li is a graduate of Rutgers College, Rutgers University, and received her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. She commenced her practice of law with the firm in 1983.
