Charles L. Haskell is one of the Founding Partners in Lettuce You Enterprises, Inc. (LEYE). His business background, coupled with the fact that he is a gourmet who enjoys cooking and a wine connoisseur, made him a natural to join the LEYE group as Vice President of Finance and Administration in late 1975.
Haskell played a key role in bringing LEYE from a small restaurant company with four restaurants, to a mid-sized restaurant conglomerate, which owns and/or manages more than 60 properties. In 1985 Haskell was promoted to Executive Vice President and recently was promoted to Vice Chairman.
In his role as Vice Chairman, Haskell works directly with Chairman Richard Melman on food and wine projects. He also will work in the Lettuce Consulting Group as a senior consultant as well as continuing his involvement in Lettuce's business operations and investments.
Haskell grew up in the Chicago suburb of Glencoe. He has a B.S.E.C. from Wharton School of Finance and Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania, an MBA from the University of Chicago, and is a Certified Public Accountant. He was Treasurer of the Illinois Restaurant Association from 1984 to 1992 and is currently an Honorary Director. Prior to joining LEYE, Haskell was a principal in a management consulting firm for seven years, specializing in areas of marketing and distribution.
Haskell's personal hobbies, which he shares with his wife, include collecting art, travel, photography, shell collecting, scuba diving and underwater photography, fishing, hunting wild mushrooms, and collecting wine. |
