Mr. Fewell has practiced corporate law since 1968, with an emphasis on international banking and finance, including regulation. Mr. Fewell's practice includes domestic and cross border credit products, secured and unsecured; banking and financial services' regulatory matters; trade finance; corporate trust; derivatives; project finance; licensing of intellectual property; acquisitions; divestitures; corporate governance; securitization; real estate and real estate investment trust financing; mergers and acquisitions; private banking; executive employment contract representation; commercial arbitration; and legal risk and litigation management. Mr. Fewell joined the firm after a 17-year career with Deutsche Bank, where he rose to Managing Director and Chief Counsel for Deutsche Bank North America, responsible for Deutsche Bank's commercial and investment banking legal representation in the United States, Canada and Mexico. He recently served as Co-Chair of the International Banking Committee, International Law and Practice Section of the American Bar Association. He serves and has served on various committees of the New York State and New York City Bar Associations and for many years has been a Director of the German American Law Association. He serves as a Vice President of the American Foreign Law Association. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the New York State Bar Association Committee on Publications. He is on the Mediation Panel for the US District Court for the Southern District of New York and has served as an Arbitrator on the American Arbitration Association's Panel of Commercial Arbitrators.
