By following her North Star, Carol has found us and has had some interesting stops along the way! Two major threads, technology and learning, weave through Carol's career tapestry. Carol has taught in a variety of settings here and abroad. Although she is certified as both a History and ELL teacher, much of her career has been in the corporate world with large, global organizations such as Digital Equipment, Gartner Group, and SAS. Carol has in-depth experience creating and selling a variety of solutions, which include software, services, online learning, and executive education to large, multi-national organizations. At one point, Carol took a year's leave of absence in her career and joined the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Seattle, WA. There, she worked as an advocate for low-income and homeless families. Inspired by her clients, she chose to pursue an M.Ed. at Seattle University (Carol?s undergraduate degree from Boston College is in History and Secondary Education). Upon completion, she joined the ABLE Network, the professional development arm of Washington State's Office of Adult Literacy supporting educators serving an "at-risk" adult population. Carol's graduate school research included topics such as a Family Systems Approach to Learning Disabilities, and Childhood Grief and Loss; and Creativity as a Healing Agent. Carol is passionate about learning and loves children! She's mom to Marygrace whom she adopted from China in 2004. Carol is licensed as a school counselor (K-8) and is a graduate of the Cabrini Pastoral Ministry program in Seattle, WA. She's thrilled to be a member of the FableVision team where her passion for learning, creativity, and love for children gets plenty of fuel! |
