Appeared in all 16 games for the Cardinals in 2006 (five starts), marking the first time since his rookie year of 2003 that he played in every game.

Set a career-high in sacks with 4.5 in 2004.

The second of two Arizona first-round picks in the 2003 NFL Draft (Bryant Johnson, 17th overall), taken 18th overall.

Pro Career:

The second of Arizona’s two first-round selections in 2003, Pace has recorded 7.5 sacks in four years as a Cardinal. Selected with the 18th overall pick in 2003, Pace was preceded by wide receiver Bryant Johnson who was chosen with the 17th pick.

2006: For the first time since his 2003 rookie campaign, appeared in all 16 games, making five starts at outside linebacker starting his first game as a strongside linebacker after converting from defensive end, Pace recorded three tackles and a forced fumble in the season opener vs. SF (9/10) appeared as a reserve linebacker and also blocked a Josh Brown FG in the second quarter @ Sea (9/17) back in the starting lineup at strongside linebacker, made three tackles vs. StL (9/24) recorded his best game of the season when he established career highs in total tackles with seven and solo tackles with five, while also forcing a fumble as a reserve linebacker @ Oak (10/22); also collected two special teams tackles logged his fifth start of the season at linebacker, collecting three tackles and recorded one tackle on special teams @ GB (10/29) totaled one tackle and collected his first sack of the season @ SF (12/24); also added one special teams tackle.

2005: Recorded two tackles in the season opener @ NYG (9/11) recorded his first sack of 2005 vs. SF (10/2) and recorded three tackles, the most of any defensive lineman started vs. Car (10/9) and recorded four tackles, one for a loss placed on the reserve/non-football injury list on 10/19 after suffering a laceration of his arm during the bye week.

2004: Played in 14 games, inactive for two in 2004 recorded a career-high 4.5 sacks sacked Michael Vick @ Atl (9/26) as the Falcons were heading into the Cards red zone, also forced Vick to fumble on the sack which was recovered by Peppi Zellner at the Arizona 26-yard line sacked Aaron Brooks vs. NO (10/3) for his second sack in as many games; recorded one tackle and a pass defensed recorded a career high two sacks @ SF (10/10) against quarterback Tim Rattay recorded a half sack vs. NYJ (11/28) saw action on defense and tied his career high pressuring Lions QB Joey Harington three times @ Det (12/5) deactivated vs. StL (12/19) and @ Sea (12/26) saw action on defense and special teams but did not record any statistics vs. TB (1/2).

2003: As a rookie, started all 16 games at right defensive end led linemen with four tackles and two hurries in season opener @ Det (9/7) recorded five tackles, two hurries, a two-yard sack of 49ers passer Jeff Garcia on third down to force a second quarter punt, and recovered a San Francisco fumble when Cards linebacker Ronald McKinnon separated 49ers tailback Kevan Barlow from the ball near the end of the third quarter in 1613 overtime win vs. SF (10/26) four combined tackles, two hurries @ SF (12/7).

College:

Finished second on Wake Forest’s all-time list with 29 sacks Demon Deacon career numbers included 189 total tackles (116 solos), five forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery in 42 appearances with 33 starts senior all-America pick and two-time all-ACC selection.

Personal:

Full name Calvin Lamar Pace attended Lithia Springs (Douglasville, GA) High School played outside linebacker and quarterback as varsity starter for three consecutive years finished senior campaign with 88 total tackles, five forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries earned all-region and county defensive-player-of-the-year honors in 1997 sociology major.
