Former University of Denver defenseman Bryan Vines just completed his second season as the Video Coordinator for the Avalanche.
Vines oversees all of the club's video scouting efforts, which includes breaking down and analyzing game footage, as well as video of upcoming opponents.
Vines, 27, was a four-year letter winner for the Pioneers and served as team captain during the 2001-02 season. He played in 155 career games, tallying 34 points on six goals and 28 assists. He was an Academic All-WCHA selection all four years. Vines went on to play professionally in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL), competing for both the Long Beach Ice Dogs and San Diego Gulls.
Prior to joining the Avalanche, Vines worked as an editorial assistant with BellGlobe Media in Toronto. Vines' duties included creating highlight packages for the "NHL on TSN", as well as serving as a producer, writer and editor for various news and sports shows.
Vines graduated from the University of Denver in June of 2002 with a degree in journalism. Throughout his collegiate playing career, Bryan did numerous internships in broadcasting and media. He was a media relations intern with the DU Athletic Department in 2001 and also worked for Kroenke Sports as a publicity and advertising intern that same year.
