Mr. Whipple joined NorthMarq Capital in September 2003 when NorthMarq acquired the mortgage banking division of Legg Mason Real Estate Services (LMRES) where he was employed since October, 2002. He currently serves as Vice President in NorthMarq’s New York City regional office. He is responsible for originating commercial financing in the Westchester and Rockland County, NY and Western Connecticut territories. His direct duties involve the development and maintenance of borrower and lender relationships, the structuring of debt, equity, and hybrid financial structures, and the negotiation of terms and conditions on behalf of clients. Mr. Whipple has approximately 14 years of experience in commercial investment real estate. Prior to joining LMRES, he was Regional Manager of Origination in the Retail Private Client Group of the Merrill Lynch Commercial Real Estate Conduit where his territory consisted of the western half of the United States. Mr. Whipple also worked as a Senior Underwriter for Lehman Brothers CMBS Group and as a construction lender for the Community Preservation Corporation. In addition, he worked as a real estate consultant for Arthur Andersen, SC on demand, financing, and market studies. Mr. Whipple holds a B.A from Washington & Lee University, a M.A. in Product Design from NC State University, and a M.S. in Real Estate Development from Columbia University. He is a member of Real Estate Lenders Association and a licensed real estate broker in New York State and Connecticut. Mr. Whipple is actively involved on committees and a board of directors for a museum, church, and clubs in Manhattan. |
