Bruce E. Kimmel, Ph.D. Vice President, Therapeutic Applications Dr. Kimmel was formerly Senior Director of Protein Therapeutics at Diversa Corporation where he built the Protein Therapeutics group from the ground up. At Diversa, Dr. Kimmel was instrumental in obtaining >$11 million in government biodefense grants and establishing several corporate collaborations in the field of antibody engineering. Prior to his position at Diversa, Dr. Kimmel was Director and Department Head of the Functional Genomics group at Amgen Inc. While at Amgen, Dr. Kimmel helped in a team effort to establish a company paradigm for therapeutic antibodies. Dr. Kimmel has both led and managed the development of several protein therapeutic drug candidates at the research and preclinical stage. Some of these candidates, both antibodies and proteins, are now in human clinical trials. |
