Branden Linnell Biography :

Birth Date and Place 7/27/73 in Ogden, Utah a/k/a/ O-Town where most of the west sends their taxes each year. And to answer your follow-up questions: Yes, I ski/snowboard and No, Im not Mormon. First Album Ever Bought The Soundtrack to Flash Gordon, one of Queens finest. First Concert Attended Cyndi Lauper Shes So Unusual (Ahhh the 80s!) Three Favorite Films I cant pick just 3 favorites but Ill list a few that I seem to watch over and over again and never get sick of: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (also a good read), Christmas Vacation, Dr. Caligari, 3 OClock High (filmed in my hometown), Parents, Rivers Edge (and anything else with Crispin Glover in it), Spinal Tap, Bad News On Tour, Decline of Western Civilization Part II (now that is funny), A Christmas Story, Rushmore, Breakfast Club ..I better stop! Three Favorite TV Shows Gotta go with the 3 Ss here: Southpark, Simpsons, and Seinfeld Favorite Foods Favorite cuisine would be a tie between Indian and Mexican (mmmm mole) but my favorite food dish has to be mamas stuffed artichokes (and you dont ruin it by dipping it in mayonnaise!!) How I Got Started in the Music Business Well actually, I went to school specifically for this crap. I played music all my life and knew that I wanted to work around it somehow. So I got my bachelors degree in Music Business from the University of the Pacific (the same Place Marco our President went) which gave me a foundational knowledge. Then I kind of fell into the professional student role as I went on to get 2 more degrees, but all of them were aiming at different aspects of the music business. At the same time I worked as a band manager / booking agent for the bands I was in, a producer at a radio station, a recording engineer, and soundman for a venue (not all at once obviously). So I dont know where the start came, whether it was the school or the jobs. I guess Id just have to say being around music is what got me started. When I Started at Century Media May, 2002 What I Was Doing Prior to Working at Century Media Working as a Paralegal at a Music Law Firm. Non-Musical Interests Golf, Snowboarding, Travel, Hearses, fixing up my house, video games could take all my free time if I were to let them. Trying to figure out good investments seems to be something I waste a lot of time on even though I dont have the money to really do anything. Pets A cat named Monkey who has six toes on each paw and can pick things up with his apposable thumb on his right paw. A gigantic fluffy brown turtle shell cat who we affectionately call Big Brown or Snuffalumpagus. I am also the proud owner of an even more fluffy red persian/manx mixed Kitty named Boris but he doesnt live with me since my brother got custody of both our cats when we separated. I do have visitation rights though. Someday I aspire to own a chicken and a pig. The First Thing I Do After Work Everyday Well if it is royalty time, I go home and keep working, or I go get some food and come back to work. Otherwise I cry my way through an hour + commute, get some grub, do work around the house and hang out with my wife as much as possible before she has to sleep (she starts work at 4:30 in the morning). Then if Im not too beat and there are no other matters that require my attention, I might try something musically like re-mixing my old bands songs or writing lyrics for some of the unfinished ones, or maybe just play bass and watch TV. Otherwise I might try to watch an NBA game or Seinfeld, Simpsons, or Southpark, or Insomniac thats a great show too. Dream Date

There is something about this chick! What is it? Things I Hate The Most in the World Hate is usually wasted energy, so I try not to do it. There are surely things I hate but if I try to remember them right now Ill probably just get pissed off again. Then Ill dwell on it and a lot of time will get wasted. Id rather avoid this. Sorry! If you know me you will get to hear me go off at some point. So until then Favorite Quote When I get home at night, if my ears are not ringing, I dont feel like Ive accomplished a damn thing!

Dr. Thomas Root (Conductor)

"People demand freedom of speech to make up for the freedom of thought which they avoid."

I cant remember who said that but a lot of times it seems true. Most Surreal Rock N' Roll Moment Surreal eh? Sticking strictly to the meaning of the word, this would have to be my moment (as applied to Rock&Roll): Long before I lived in Los Angeles I was the singer/bass player in a band called Lilys Remains. We were not on a label and we only got minimal airplay on a local radio show. We really only had a cult following in and around Ogden, Utah. But we did manage to sell/give away about 800 CDs. Anyway, I took a vacation to Los Angeles in the summer of 98 or 99, whenever it was that Bauhaus did their reunion show in Hollywood. The day before the show I was hanging out / shopping / or whatever you do on Melrose Ave. when a gaggle of gothy girls ran across the street towards me and said, hey arent you the lead singer of Lilys Remains? As it turned out, these girls were from Utah as well and like me, they were only here to see the Bauhaus show. They recognized me from some show we did in Salt Lake City a few months earlier. But for that brief moment, I felt like a real bona fide rock star with fans in other places besides Utah. It turned out to be not quite as cool as I thought, but it is never a bad thing to have a bunch of gothy girls run up to you, no matter where they are from. Bands Who Will Soon Rule the Planet If I could tell you this, Id be a rich man right now. But Id probably hate myself for forcing more crap on the masses. If there was any justice in this world, a country/power-pop/Willie Nelson meets Joey Ramone Singer/Songwriter I know named Tommy Dolph would rule the planet of Rock & Roll and wed all be damn happy about it. Personal Rantings Damn I get tired of people who rant! Current Playlist Alice Cooper Love it to Death
