Bradley Lytle Biography :

Bradley D. Lytle is a partner in the firm's Electrical/Mechanical Practice Group and is a member of the firm's Board of Directors. His practice touches all aspects of patent law with an emphasis on building commercially significant U.S. and foreign patent portfolios for companies in consumer electronics, e-commerce, business method, digital communications, RF and wireless communications, software, control system, Internet infrastructure, and information technology areas. He also has extensive experience in drafting claims to cover industry standards, and in negotiating with patent pool administrators. An important component of his practice is assisting clients leverage their patents in various ways to obtain a commercial advantage over their competition. Thus, his practice includes patent enforcement counseling, licensing, patent litigation and preparation of legal opinions.

Mr. Lytle brings to his patent practice the technical and business knowledge acquired through a number of years of formal education and industry experience. He received his Law Degree from the American University in 1995, his Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the George Washington University in 1989, and his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland in 1984. Mr. Lytle previously worked for another law firm in the areas of patent litigation and patent prosecution. Having worked for ten years as an engineer before beginning his legal practice, he has a significant amount of experience with wireless communications systems, networks, satellite systems, digital receivers and processors, A/D converters, TDMA/FDMA/CDMA communication systems, spread spectrum devices, embedded and application level software, optics, amplifiers, video display systems, discs, audio and video processing and recording systems, signal compression and encoding standards, semiconductor manufacturing, and many other technologies.

Mr. Lytle is a recipient of the 34th Annual Dr. Joseph Rossman Memorial Award, for co-authoring with Mr. Stephen Kunin "The Patent Eligibility of Signal Claims" (please see article link below), which the Journal of the Patent and Trademark Office Society recognized in November 2007 as an article that made the greatest contribution to the field of Patents, Trademarks and Copyrights between July 2005 and June 2006.
