Ben is the great-grandson of the legendary vaudeville impresario, B.S. Moss, and the grandson of Charles B. Moss, Sr., a radio and television producer and movie theater owner, who together built a family dynasty that made the Moss name synonymous with show business in New York.
With his father Charles B. Moss, Jr., Ben makes up the other half of Bow Tie Partners, a real estate and entertainment company with headquarters on Broadway in Times Square, in the signature Bow Tie Building.
From the time he was a child, Ben realized he would translate his appetite for the business world into a truly creative, commercial adventure with his father. In elementary school, he would eagerly accompany Charley to the office on weekends. He is a graduate of The University of Chicago, having concentrated his studies in film and the humanities.
His first foray into Moss family enterprises took him to Colorado in 1995, where he worked on-air as a news reporter and off air in programming and purchasing at two Aspen radio stations. In Steamboat Springs, Colorado, he became general manager at KFMU radio. In all, Ben devoted 8 years to the radio business in Colorado and California.
In 1998, Ben and his father, Charley, formed Bow Tie Partners, and together they envisioned and oversaw the redevelopment of the family-owned Bow Tie Building in Times Square. It was the first of many projects Bow Tie Partners has undertaken to bring scenes to life.
