Dr. Ben Calloni is a senior researcher in Lockheed Martin Aeronautics company. His focus is the use of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Open Standards products suitable for Department of Defense (DoD) systems, particularly in the area of Avionics. Standards based, validated products in the area of safety (FAA) and security (NSA/NIAP) are key to the cost effective development of these platforms. Interoperability standards also provide flexibility in terms of mitigating proprietary solutions on systems with 30 year lifespans. Ben has been active in The Open Group's Real-Time Forum for several years, more recently working on Multilevel Security. He is also active in the Object Management Group (OMG), chairing the Real Time and Embedded Task Force and serving on their Board of Directors. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Software Engineering. |
