Barry Mousa has more than 30 years of hospital industry experience in proprietary and not-for-profit community hospitals and multi-hospital systems. He has been with Merit Health Systems since 2005 as CEO at the former Medical Center at Lancaster, COO at Lincoln Park Hospital, and is now the System’s Vice President of Operations. His primary role with Merit is to develop ways to improve operating margins and productivity, improve Case Management outcomes and physician resource utilization as well as maintain quality programs and decision support systems. Additionally, he conducts manager and department head process improvement training programs.Prior to joining Merit, Mr. Mousa was a hospital CEO for Community Health Systems in Georgia where he received the 2002 Solucient 100 Top Hospitals award along with other quality distinctions. His career also includes successful tenures as COO and CFO of community hospitals in Abilene, TX, Covington, LA, and Richmond, VA and regional CFO for a hospital system based in Roanoke, VA. He is Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, a past Advanced Member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, and a Certified Public Accountant. |
