Arthur Slotkin Biography :

Mr.Slotkin attends the Georgia Institute of Technology’s School of History, Society and Technology as a doctoral candidate and is author of Foundation for the New South, The History of the Georgia Tech Foundation. He also continues to serve as an independent consultant to Science Application International Corporation (SAIC) since leaving full-time employment in 2003.From 2000 to 2003, Mr. Slotkin was with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), an $8 billion, privately held and employee owned IT and Engineering Service Company as an Executive Vice President. SAIC is #294 on the Fortune 500 list and is the largest privately held-technology company in the world. With responsibility for business units with nearly $800 billion in 2002 revenue, he managed the marketing, sales and delivery of commercial IT outsourcing, systems integration and consulting service globally. In addition, Slotkin served on a number of subsidiary, joint venture and affiliate boards of directors. Mr. Slotkin was also responsible for the start up of SAIC’s offshore outsourcing program which includes a partnership agreement with a major Indian IT Services company.In 2000, Mr. Slotkin was appointed the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of PSINet Consulting Solutions (PSC), a $500 million IT consulting company with approximately 4,000 consultants in the United States. In addition, he served as a Senior Vice President of PSINet and was responsible for certain merger and acquisition activities as well as serving on subsidiary and affiliate boards of directors. He first joined PSC (previously called Metamor Worldwide, prior to its acquisition by PSINet) in 1999 as President, Metamor Enterprise Solutions (MES). MES implemented software packaged based solutions with revenues exceeding $150 million in 2000.Prior to PSINET/Metamor, Mr. Slotkin was Senior Vice President, Cap Gemini America (CGA), having first joined CGA in 1997. Mr. Slotkin led CGA’s applications outsourcing division, focused on applications operations, which, in addition to applications management, included distributed computing services, help desk and server management.Mr. Slotkin joined AT&T Solutions in 1995 where he managed AT&T Solutions network outsourcing practice on a global basis. In this position Slotkin managed the sales and delivery of network centric information systems and business processes to the Global 1000 companies. AT&T Solutions had responsibility for the $460 million business and booked over $3.2 billion in new orders in 1996.Prior to joining AT&T Solutions, Mr. Slotkin served as the Vice President & Managing Principal, Worldwide Outsourcing for the Unisys Corporation, 1992 to 1995. In that role, he managed Unisys’ IT outsourcing globally. As the founder of the Unisys’ entry into commercial outsourcing, Mr. Slotkin grew the practice to almost $300 million in revenues in six years. Slotkin previously served as Vice President & General Manager of the Unisys Government Services division and held a number of management positions with Unisys and its predecessor firms having first joined the firm in 1971.Mr. Slotkin holds a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering (1969) from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering from Auburn University (1968) and attended the Program for Management Development at the Harvard Business School (1975). During Mr. Slotkin’s corporate career, he was active in the engineering profession and served as a national vice president and a member of the national Board of Directors of the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics. Slotkin was co-secretary of the International Academy of Astronautics and have severed on various committees of the International Astronautics Federation. Slotkin is a life member of Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society and was elected to Sigma Gamma Tau, aerospace engineering honor society.
