Current responsibility
Art is a principal and consulting actuary specializing in healthcare management in the Seattle office of Milliman.
Experience
Art's experience as a consulting actuary includes assignments in evaluating healthcare costs, insurance product pricing, evaluating and pricing disease-specific risk contracts (e.g., cancer carveouts), hospital utilization analysis, and physician reimbursement.
Art has experience with the development of fee schedules for commercial insurers and for workers' compensation. He has developed disability evaluation tools for both commercial long-term disability products and occupational injury claims.
Prior to joining Milliman, Art worked in the insurance industry as a group insurance actuary. His responsibilities included pricing and product development, large-case underwriting, experience analysis and the development of management information systems, and financial reporting/valuation. His experience primarily covered group medical care, group disability, and group life insurance.
