Art Abeleda
As chief technology officer of Guidester, Inc., Art Abeleda is responsible for the development of all Guidester applications and the management of the company's day-to-day information technology functions. An industry veteran, Abeleda brings more than 15 years experience designing and developing operation critical applications.
A co-founder of Guidester, Inc., back in early 2000 Abeleda architected and created the initial Guidester tool and underlying support platform. Since that time, he has built the company's paid search platform including its retail partner support applications and advertiser bidding engine. Abeleda also developed the company's in-house IT and development infrastructure. He currently manages the development team and assists members of the executive staff in various technology initiatives.
Before Guidester, Inc., Abeleda spent seven years as lead design analyst at the Securities Industry Automation Corporation (SIAC), a subsidiary of the NYSE and AMEX that runs the computer systems and communications networks of the two exchanges and disseminates market data information worldwide. At SIAC, he was involved in various application development projects including NYSEnet.com, a market intelligence Web site exclusive to listed companies and the specialist community. He assisted SIAC and NYSE management with assessments of various Internet technologies, developed the technical feasibility prototypes and led the design, architecture and development of the site.
Prior to joining SIAC, Abeleda was a program analyst at the Industrial Bank of Japan. In this role he designed and created front and back office applications under Windows and Unix platforms and developed a number of proprietary applications for sales, management and trading systems.
From 1988-1990 Abeleda was an EDP branch coordinator at Schenker's International Freight Forwarders in New Jersey. He played an instrumental role in bringing the company into the digital age and trained the staff on various computer programs and operations.
Abeleda received his B.S. in Computer Science from The City College of New York. |
