Antroy Arreola concentrates on commercial litigation and represents major energy companies in a broad range of disputes involving royalty, ownership, development, production, and operator litigation. Mr. Arreola has extensive first and second chair experience in every stage of litigation and arbitration, including emergency relief, summary judgment practice, mediation, jury and non-jury trial practice, and post-judgment practice. Mr. Arreola also has significant experience in products liability and personal injury litigation, which includes investigating offshore blowouts, defending product manufacturers, and defending against wrongful death claims. He has also worked part-time as in-house counsel for a major energy company, where his duties included managing outside counsel, budgeting litigation expenses, advising business units on litigation risk management, and performing complex decision tree style analysis of risk-adjusted economic expectations. Has experience in royalty, ownership, development, production, and operator litigation, as well as extensive knowledge of construction litigation (offshore, pipeline, and facilities) and gas marketing litigation (purchase agreements and interaffiliate sales). Seconded to major energy company as part-time in-house counsel. Duties included managing outside counsel, budgeting litigation expenses, advising business units on litigation risk management, and performing complex decision tree-style analysis of risk-adjusted economic expectations. Represents defendants, including employers, property owners, and contractors, in personal injury actions. Experience includes investigating offshore blowouts and defending wrongful death cases. Represents defendants and plaintiffs in product liability actions. Experience representing product manufacturer defendants includes defending the makers of liquid pumps (asbestos litigation), blasting equipment (silica litigation), PTO adapters, glass reactor vessels, crane manufacturers and oxygen absorbers. Experience representing product users or their insurers in actions for property damages include the users of mobile drilling rigs and defective drill pipe. Represents owners, lenders, contractors, and lessors real estate disputes. Experience representing property owners and contractors includes defending and pursing claims in flooding, leasing, ownership, commercial construction, and residential construction litigation. Also has experience representing both lenders and borrowers in foreclosure-related actions. Recent experience include restraining the foreclosure on a mental health facility and involuntarily lifting a lis pendens to facilitate the sale of residential subdivision. Represents defendants and plaintiffs in other types of commercial disputes including breach of contract, bad faith, deceptive trade practices, and fraud actions. Representative defendants include general partners in real estate limited partnerships, physicians, real estate limited partners, insurers, and corporate officers. Representative plaintiffs and counter-plaintiffs include lending institutions, insurers, real estate limited partners, and borrowers.
