Andy’s practice primarily emphasizes Securities Enforcement and Securities Litigation matters including defense of SEC investigations and proceedings as well as Securities Class Actions, and Derivative Actions. Andy also represents individuals and entities in connection with matters before the NASD and self-regulatory bodies. In addition, Andy handles a wide array of complex commercial litigation.
Andy also participated as special counsel in connection with various securities offerings.
Significant matters have included:
Served as lead outside counsel to the City and County of Denver in connection with the City’s defense of the SEC Investigation into the financing of the Denver International Airport. After an investigation that lasted over a year, the SEC brought no action against Denver.
Assisted Denver’s lead defense counsel in defense of multiple securities class actions involving the issuance of bonds to finance the Denver International Airport. (Case was settled with no payment made by Denver or airport).
Worked briefly as Assistant Democratic Counsel on the United States Senate Special Whitewater Committee.
Represented numerous broker-dealers, issuers, and individuals in defense of SEC investigations in which after the investigation, the SEC brought no action.
Served as Special Counsel to the City and County of Denver in connection with various securities offerings (including GARB, Special Facilities Bonds), Commercial Paper offerings and SWAP transactions totaling over $3 billion by Denver on behalf of the Denver International Airport.
