Andrew Barr has over 30 years of experience handling complex commercial and business lawsuits in federal and state courts. His resume spans a number of issues, including commercial lending, real estate finance, lender liability, usury Uniform Commercial Code, breach of fiduciary duty, lien priorities, sequestration of collateral and other goods, letters of credit, and breach of contract. In addition to this wide range of commercial litigation experience, Mr. Barr has represented a major commercial lending firm in many lawsuits and workout situations in connection with its financing of goods distribution. Mr. Barr also has six years of experience trying criminal cases and handling appeals as a U.S. attorney. In this capacity, he has represented corporations, trade associations, and individuals in alleged criminal antitrust or business-related fraud matters, including advising with disclosure issues, representing parties subpoenaed to appear before and/or submit documents to federal grand juries, negotiating with prosecutors, and trying a criminal RICO case to a jury. Represented a bank holding company and subsidiary banks in defending claims asserted by two investment banking firms for fees allegedly earned in connection with the acquisition of another bank holding company and its subsidiary banks. Represented a major wireless telephone service and equipment provider in connection with a claim for commissions allegedly earned in connection with the wireless provider securing a General Services Administration contract through which the wireless provider has sold and supplied wireless services and equipment to federal agencies throughout the United States. Represented a telecommunications company in connection with personal injury and property damage claims arising out of an automobile collision involving a death and serious bodily injury; the matters in dispute involved alleged employee intoxication, insurance coverage, rental car company public liability coverage, respondent superior issues, the nature and extent of alleged injuries, and damages. Represented banks, savings and loan associations, and other financial institutions in disputes arising out of lending transactions, including lender liability claims. Represented a major oil company in a condemnation lawsuit arising in connection with its relocating a portion of a pipeline in Irving, Texas. Represented a major wireless telephone service and equipment provider in connection with a claim that a cell tower it was erecting on a tract of land constituted a nuisance and presented a serious safety risk to a building on an adjacent tract and individuals who worked in that building.
